Implementation of Food Ladders
Rolling Out Food Ladders in 2025
This year we’re supercharging our approach by introducing Food Ladders – a practical way for Centres to support whānau in crisis, build capability, and strengthen community food systems.
Fifteen Centres are already on board, creating their own community food ladders. They’re out listening to whānau, mapping community needs, and identifying where partnerships and new opportunities can make the biggest difference.
These ladders will help Centres:
• Build stronger community connections
• Spot gaps and innovate to fill them
• Create clear pathways for whānau to move toward long‑term food security
• Track impact and learn what works
The first wave of food ladders will wrap up in early 2026, with more Centres joining after. We’ll then support each site to turn their insights into practical, local food security initiatives.
