Food Champions is about more than just food. We’re helping people move towards lasting food security. By donating, you’re not just providing a meal—you’re empowering individuals and their communities with the tools and resources they need to stay food secure. It’s simple, impactful, and your ongoing support truly makes a difference.
The programme is guided by the principles of Te Kai Mākona (TKM)—cooking, growing, buying, sharing, and connecting through kai. This holistic approach allows local foodbanks to act as community hubs, supporting not only food access but also education, collaboration, and resilience.
What is Food Security
Making sure that individuals have access to affordable, sufficient, and healthy food. It’s ensuring people are able to have food consistently and not just a one-off.
Being a Champion
When you as a donor become a Food Champion, your contributions are doing more than just putting food on the table—it helps people build skills, confidence, and brighter futures.
As a donor you can use the sign-up button and go through to the Flo2cash site to set up a monthly amount.

We’re reaching out! You may have recently received a call from the team providing information about our Food Champions programme and offering you the chance to join.
Having a regular donation, especially via direct bank transfers, are particularly impactful as they reduce transaction costs and ensure more resources go directly to those in need.
We are also currently contacting a select group of donors to inquire whether they would be interested in becoming Food Champions. This initiative offers an opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting our mission by helping raise awareness, mobilise resources, and make a significant impact in the fight against food insecurity.
We greatly value your ongoing support and believe this partnership could further amplify your contribution to our cause. If you’d like to discuss this further, please call or email Neha Latchman using the contact details below.
