Sophie Gray's Italian Meal Kit
Sophie Gray of Destitute Gourmet and manager of The Good Works Trust Foodbank has given The Salvation Army permission to use three recipe kits she has developed. These are designed to be filling and nutritious for a family meal. Also, very easy to cook, versatile, and tastes so good!
Here is her Italian meal!
Sophie Gray's Italian Pasta Meal Kit

Ingredients

1 Onion chopped

Approx. 400gm meat mince, some chopped
sausages, bacon or diced chicken breast (or mixture of these)

1 can pasta sauce (or can condensed tomato soup)

1 can chopped tomatoes (plain or flavored)

1 can cannelloni beans (or butter beans or lentils)

A tablespoon of tomato paste

1 tsp mixed herbs or Italian herb blend

2tsp sugar
Salt and pepper
Directions
In a large frying pan or saucepan, cook the mince (or whatever meat you are using) until browned. Add the onion and cook gently till soft.
Add the pasta sauce (or soup), tomatoes, herbs, paste, sugar and simmer till thickened.
Stir in the beans and heat through. Season to taste. Serve with cooked pasta top with grated cheese if wanted.
